The Corax Foundation invites students of the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Political Sciences to participate in the 10th edition of The Hague Inter-University Law Debate Tournament (THIULDT) in 2027.
Although THIULDT originated as an inter-university law debate tournament, many of the questions discussed during the competition lie at the intersection of law, international relations, European affairs, human rights, security and public policy.
THIULDT brings together teams of two or three students who debate contemporary legal and international questions in English. Unlike a traditional moot court, students research different questions, construct persuasive positions, respond directly to opposing arguments and adapt their reasoning during live debate.
The competition places particular emphasis on critical thinking, structured argumentation, research, rebuttal, public speaking and the ability to understand competing perspectives on international questions.
The preliminary stages are held online, while qualifying teams subsequently complete the concluding stage in The Hague.
The 2027 edition will mark the 10th anniversary of THIULDT, with a particular effort to broaden the geographical diversity of the tournament. Serbia has not yet been represented, and the organisers would be delighted to welcome a Serbian team in 2027.
Students of International Studies, members of the FPN Debate Club, and other students interested in international affairs and competitive debating are invited to apply.
